My Commentary

This is the sound of Culture Club spiraling into a velvet-lined breakdown -- and somehow still delivering a few bops along the way.

From Luxury to Heartache is an album soaked in emotional damage, interesting decisions, and the ghost of glitter past. George was in the middle of serious addiction. The band was falling apart. Helen Terry was gone. Jon and George were in emotional shambles.

This album feels like a fever dream. One moment you're dancing, the next you're wondering if George recorded his vocals while lying on the floor.

Each track title links to its own dedicated lyrics page. If a song doesn't have an official set of lyrics, or has multiple versions (because demo versions sometimes have different lyrics, and then we know how George likes to change up lyrics during live performances lol), I'll note that on the individual page.
